How Well is Your Neighbourhood Managed?

‘Neighbourhood Management’ is being tried out in the Broxtowe and Bell’s Lane Estates for the next four years. It’s a way for residents to find out what services are being delivered in the neighbourhood, who is responsible for them, and how much they cost. With information like that we can question priorities, suggest different approaches, and contribute to positive changes.

Services need to be delivered in ways that suit the needs and circumstances of local people in local neighbourhoods- sometimes very local needs get missed in the one size fits all approach that we currently have across the city.

If you want to help us to get things right in this area, we are holding sessions every fortnight at the training centre (Best) on Denton Green between 5pm and 7pm on Thursday nights.

We have started things off by looking at the environment and what is called ‘liveability’ of the neighbourhood. That means the state of streets, gardens, parks and other public areas, lighting, recycling, dog mess and everything else that physically affects the environment in which we try to live. If you think any of the services that look after these things could be improved, and especially if you have suggestions as to what those improvements might be, we’d love for you to get involved.

Telephone Mark at Broxtowe Partnership Trust on 9130134 if you have ideas, want to attend the meetings, be on the mailing list, or just want to find out more.
